7 Worship Songs For Healing And Miracles (Believing For Breakthrough)
One of the most powerful things we can do as a church is stand in the gap for those who are suffering. Whether it is a physical diagnosis, a broken marriage, or a mental health battle, we serve a God who is still in the business of doing the impossible. As James 5:15 says, “And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.”
Worship songs about healing are not just wishful thinking; they are declarations of faith. They remind us that the God of the Bible is not a distant observer but an active participant in our lives who hears us when we cry out.
Why These Songs Build Faith For Miracles
We selected these songs because:
- They are specific. These lyrics don’t shy away from asking for the miraculous or naming the sickness.
- They focus on God’s nature. They remind us that God is a Healer, a Miracle Worker, and a Restorer by definition.
- They inspire boldness. They encourage the congregation to ask with confidence rather than timidity.
7 Songs To Pray For The Sick
- I Speak Jesus – This song was practically written for ministry time. It explicitly speaks the name of Jesus over “every addiction” and “every stronghold.” It is a tool for intercession that empowers the church to pray with authority.
- Way Maker – “Miracle Worker.” That is who He is. Singing this title over and over builds a canopy of faith in the room, helping people believe that God can make a way where there seems to be no way.
- Same God – Healing often requires us to look back to move forward. This song declares that the God who healed the lepers and raised the dead is the “Same God” we are praying to right now.
- More Than Able – “Anything is possible.” This song confronts our doubt head-on. It reminds us that God is not just able to do what we ask, but He is *more* than able to do abundantly above it.
- Jesus Does – “Who heals the broken heart? Jesus does.” This folk-style anthem is a joyful reminder of the active ministry of Jesus. It is great for lifting the heavy atmosphere that often surrounds sickness.
- Rattle! – Sometimes healing looks like resurrection. This song is an aggressive declaration of life over dead situations. It commands dry bones to live and is perfect for desperate situations.
- Battle Belongs – Sickness is often a spiritual battle as well as a physical one. This song teaches us to fight on our knees, trusting that while we do the praying, God does the healing.
Example Setlists For Healing
Setlist 1 (The Prayer of Faith)
- More Than Able – Raises the faith level of the room immediately.
- Way Maker – Focuses on the character of God as the Miracle Worker.
- I Speak Jesus – Moves into a time of specific prayer for needs.
Setlist 2 (God of the Breakthrough)
- Same God – Connects us to the biblical history of miracles.
- Rattle! – Declares life and power over the situation.
- Battle Belongs – Ends with a posture of trust and surrender.
How To Use These Songs In Your Church
- Invite the elders. As James 5 instructs, combine these songs with the elders coming forward to anoint the sick with oil.
- Create an environment of safety. Make it clear that we pray for healing because God is good, but we also trust Him with the outcome. Remove the pressure for “performance” miracles.
- Let the music linger. Songs like I Speak Jesus can be repeated as a prayer loop while people are ministering to one another.
